Frequently Asked Questions
How do I calculate a percentage discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100, then subtract from the original price. For example, 25% off $80: $80 × 0.25 = $20 discount, so the sale price is $60.
How do stacking discounts work?
When discounts stack, each applies to the already-reduced price, not the original. A 20% discount followed by an additional 10% off is not 30% total — it's $100 → $80 → $72, which equals 28% off.
Is a bigger percentage always a better deal?
Not necessarily. Compare the actual dollar savings and the final price. A 50% discount on an overpriced item may still cost more than a 20% discount on a fairly priced competitor.
